FALL SCHEDULE

Beau Polvorosa – Red Team Head Coach

Coach Beau Polvorosa was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. A high school graduate in 2003 from Horizon High School. Coach Polvorosa has been one of the Head Coaches with the Angels Amateur Academy since the summer of 2017. He took over the 2020 team when they were under the Gray team.

Coach Polvorosa is currently the Head Baseball Coach at Washington High School in Phoenix, Arizona where he also teaches Physical Education. He was the Head Baseball Coach at Cortez High School from 2015 to the spring of 2017. His 2018 Washington High School team 14-8 and won the schools first Region Title. In 2018 Coach Polvorosa was 2018 Black Canyon Region Coach of the Year and was one of the AzBCA assistant coaches in the 4A All-Star Team.

Prior to becoming a head coach, Coach Polvorosa coached for MADE Baseball. Coach Polvorosa went to Gateway Community College and transferred to San Diego Christian College where he earned his Bachelor degree in Communication. Coach Polvorosa currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona.

 

Joseph Ponce – White Team Head Coach

Coach Joseph Ponce has been coaching with the Angels Amateur Academy since the summer of 2018 as an assistant coach with the Orange Team (c/o 2022). He took over as the head coach of the 2021 team in the Fall of 2018. Coach Ponce’s team has had a great summer and fall season including a runner-up finish in the USABF tournament in San Diego, California in July 2019.
Coach Ponce is currently the Head Baseball Coach at Desert Ridge High School in Mesa, Arizona where he also teaches Physical Education. He was the Head Baseball Coach at Saint Mary’s Catholic High School from 2017 to the spring of 2019. Coach Ponce had 10 players from SMHS continue their baseball careers in college during his time as head coach. His 2018 Saint Mary’s  team finished 21-13 and had a semifinal appearance in the 4A Conference. In 2018, Coach Ponce was the Head Coach for the AzBCA 4A All- Star Team.
Prior to becoming a head coach, Coach Ponce had coaching stints at Deer Valley High School in Glendale, Arizona, Bullard High School in Fresno, California and Tenaya Middle School in Fresno, California. Coach Ponce transferred from Fresno, City Community College in 2011 to Arizona State University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in the spring of 2013. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University. Coach Ponce currently resides in Gilbert, Arizona.
